Warsaw Police Officer

Description

The Town of Warsaw (population 2,281), located an hour from Richmond in Virginia’s historic Northern Neck Region, is seeking a qualified candidate for the part-time position of Police Officer. Warsaw is a growing community with many large-scale projects on the horizon that will require a dynamic Police Officer that will uphold the laws of both the Town and Commonwealth. The department currently consists of 3 FT and 2 PT employee(s) and serves the Town’s residential, commercial, and industrial areas within a 3 square mile jurisdiction while intermittently providing mutual aid support to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office. The Town also serves as the home for all Richmond County Public Schools, Rappahannock Community College, a regional Governor’s School, and a private school.

This position will serve under the direct supervision of the Chief of Police. The potential employee will perform a wide array of functions within both the department and the community, ranging from large-scale tasks and community events to daily department functions and operations. This position is part-time with an excellent hourly rate of pay. The Officer may also receive a take-home vehicle, contingent on scheduling.

 

Salary Range: $33.00 - 35.00/Hour (Part-Time)


Employment Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of previous experience in law enforcement is required.  
  • Possession of DCJS Certification, ability to pass required background check(s), possession of valid VA Motor Vehicle License.
  • Occasional weekend and holiday work will be required, as needed.
  • Knowledge of new and emerging technologies within police, administrative, and public sector fields.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain ethical and professional relationships with coworkers, leadership, and outside organizations.
  • Knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations.
